    Ray Phillips was a collector and restorer of Edison Kinetoscopes.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Ray Phillips collection spans the years 1989-1997 and encompasses approximately 4.0 linear feet. The collection contains correspondence, clippings, book excerpts, photographs, and research material related to the history and development of Edison's Kinetoscope and the films made for it. Most of the material is in the form of photocopies and was used in, or relates to, Phillips? 1997 book, "Edison's Kinetoscope and Its Films: A History to 1896."
