Abstract: The collection consists of two scripts for United Nations Radio Dramas written by American writer Norman Corwin during the Golden Age of Radio. The first script, "Could Be," which was also produced by Corwin, first aired in September of 1949 and starred Martin Gabel. The second script, "The Charter in the Saucer," aired in October of 1955 and starred Laurence Olivier.

Biographical Information:

Norman Corwin, born on May 3rd, 1910, was an American writer best known for his work writing and producing radio programs during the Golden Age of Radio in the 1930s and 1940s.
He began creating radio programs in 1936, and after achieving great success in the field accepted the position of Head of Special Projects at United Nations (U.N) Radio in the late 1940s. He left the U.N. in 1952 and began writing books, essays, stage plays and screenplays. Over the course of his career he won two Peabody Medals, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and was nominated for an Academy Award.
In the 1960s he also began teaching, working at the Idyllwild Arts Academy, UCLA, and USC, where he worked until his passing in 2010.

The Norman Corwin United Nations Radio Drama Scripts Collection consists of two scripts for United Nations Radio Dramas written by American writer Norman Corwin during the Golden Age of Radio.
