    Abstract: This collection of family photographs and personal papers document the migration of one family from Mexico to Arizona and then to the City of Los Angeles, and includes individual family members' records, correspondence, and employee information, property records, and travel information.This documentation gives insight into the struggles and successes that helped develop the Mexican American community in Los Angeles.

    Scope and Contents

    The Felipe and Blandina (Guererro) Rodriguez Family Collection documents the lives of an immigrant family over the course of more than forty years. The collection is divided into three series. Series I: Personal Family Records (1914-1955), contains individual family members' records, correspondence, and employee information. Series II: Property Records (1913-1936), consists of documents primarily related to the Huntington Land and Improvement Company. Series III, Miscellaneous Records (1916-1922), contains documentation regarding specific travel information mainly from Arizona to California.
    Series I, Personal Family Records, consists of correspondence, employee benefit information, certificates, citizenship papers, union membership, and pay rate documentation. The family members included in this section are Anselmo, Blandina, Carmel, Felipe, Juan Martin, and Valentin Rodriguez. The files are arranged in alphabetical order by name.
    Series II, Property Records, consists of property agreements, receipts, and payment records. This section contains a personal agreement between Felipe Rodriguez and Jubencio Guerrero, dated 1913 Jul 25, and primarily focuses on receipts between the family and Huntington Land and Improvement Company. The files are arranged in alphabetical order by title.
    Series III, Miscellaneous Records, contains two folders detailing with the family's travel expenses from Arizona to California area. This section is arranged alphabetically by category.
