George Jenkins was an American art director active in film from 1946 to 1990. He began his career as a
set designer and lighting director on Broadway in the early 1940s. Jenkins received an Academy Award for
art direction for ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976).
Collection Scope and Content Summary
The George Jenkins papers span the years 1946-1990 (bulk 1970s) and encompass 70.9 linear feet. The
collection includes manuscripts, drawings, and photographs, including slides. There are production files
for ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976) related to locations, research, sets, and more. For THE CHINA SYNDROME
(1979), there are scripts and production files, particularly related to research and sets. Also included
