Description
This collection contains administrative records and documentation of projects and events hosted by the Associates for Contemporary San Diego in the mid-1900s.
Background
The Associates for Contemporary San Diego was incorporated in 1966 by twelve women who sought to publicize and promote the City and County of San Diego as a scientific and cultural center, as well as to promote and/or sponsor scientific and cultural events. They supported large cultural events such as San Diego's bicentennial celebration and collaborated with environmental and educational groups including the San Diego Zoological Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
