Scope and Content of Collection
This collection consists of over 3,800 comic books predominantly published by Marvel
Comics. The majority of the Marvel comics were produced during the Silver and Bronze Ages of
Comic Books, which is characterized by the popularization of the superhero genre. Included
are issues featuring the first appearance of Spiderman, The X-Men, and others. Also included
are non-Marvel comics published by several other comic book publishers, which are arranged
into separate series.
