a school project by Linnaea Holgers after an overnight Girl Scout trip (Troop 321) aboard the vessel.

Historical or Biographical Note
Linnaea Holgers James (1977 - ) was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. She studied art history at the University of California,
Santa Cruz and graduated in 1998. In 2008, she purchased a gallery in Santa Cruz, for which she had worked as an employee
for 15 years. She is married and has one daughter.
Collection Scope and Content
The handmade book titled My visit to the C.A. Thayer (built 1895; schooner, 3m), 1987 (SAFR 23107, HDC 1635) was created for
a school project by Linnaea Holgers after an overnight Girl Scout trip (Troop 321) aboard the vessel.
The handmade book includes photocopies of newspaper articles, shanty lyrics, drawings, and a detailed account of the trip
led by National Park Service Ranger, "Captain" David Nettel. The collection has been processed to the item level and is open
for use without restrictions.
