Biographical / Historical

The Bertie the Bunyip Show aired on KYW-TV (known as WPTZ until 1956, then WRCV-TV from 1956-1965) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1954 to 1966. Bertie was a mythological Australian creature called a bunyip and was created by Australian born ventrilioquist Lee Dexter (1904 - 1991).
Sunny Dee was the wife of Lee Dexter and Snoopy (see postcard) was one of Lee Dexter's puppets (which was also used on the show).

This collection contains fan club newsletters, membership card, and photos for the Bertie the Bunyip Show, a locally produced children's television program which aired on KYW-TV (known as WPTZ until 1956, then WRCV-TV from 1956-1965) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which ran from 1954 to 1966.
