Biography
The Kettleman North Dome Association was a non-profit cooperative corporation unified for the development and production of
oil, gas and other hydrocarbons from the North Dome of Kettleman Hills, Fresno and Kings Counties, California. The directors
included: J.A. Brown, R.E. Collom, S.B. Moser, William C. McDuffie, Rush M. Blodget, William Reinhardt, William Humphrey,
Carl H. Beal, M.E. Lombardi, J.R. Pemberton, and E.H. McCollough.
Scope and Content
This collection consists of business records, correspondence, and legal cases related to Kettleman North Dome Association.
There are exhibits, legal opinions, trial briefs, and transcripts related to Ervin S. Armstrong, James E. Babcock, F.C. Dougherty,
and Louise C. Koons, Plaintiffs, vs. Kettleman North Dome Association, a corporation, et al., Defendants. Shell Oil Company,
a corporation, one of the defendants herein, Cross Complainant, vs. Kettleman North Dome Association, a corporation et al.,
Cross Defendants case. The letters are primarily replies from United States senators addressing George W. Nilsson’s concerns
about conservation. In Box 6, there is a bulletin from California. Department of Natural Resources. Geological Formations
and Economic Development of the Oil and Gas Fields of California.
