Churchill arrived in Los Angeles on September 17th, spending nine nights in the Los Angeles area. Most of his stay in the city was as a guest of James R. Page at the Biltmore Hotel. The purpose of the trip, which started in Seattle and ended in New York, was to vacation and to promote Anglo-American cooperation.
