    Abstract: This collection consists mainly of personal documents regarding Martin Jaskulski, a German Jew, and provides a snapshot of the life of a German Jew before, during, and after World War II.. Much of the documentation relates to his work history and medical insurance. Jaskulski belonged to the Vereinigung der Verfolgten des Naziregimes (Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime). The collection includes VVN pins and membership information. Other documents include correspondence, postcards, ephemera, and newspaper clippings.

    Scope and Contents

    This collection consists mainly of personal documents regarding Martin Jaskulski, a German Jew. The collection includes Jaskulski's identification card, stamped with the Star of David, and a pin indicating that he was a prisoner in Dachau. A photograph shows Jaskulski posing with Soviet soldiers. Much of the documentation relates to his work history and medical insurance. Jaskulski belonged to the Vereinigung der Verfolgten des Naziregimes (Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime). The collection includes VVN pins and membership information. Other documents include correspondence, postcards, newspaper clippings, and printed ephemera. The collection provides a snapshot of the life of a German Jew before, during, and after World War II.

    Biographical / Historical

    Martin Jaskulski was a German Jew living in Berlin in the 1930s and 1940s. He worked as a baggage handler up until at least 1943. A pin in the collection indicates that he may have been a prisoner at Dachau. After the war, he was a member of the Vereinigung der Verfolgten des Naziregimes (Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime.
