Gift of Ann Bayer, 1992
Eleanor Perry was an American novelist and screenwriter. Her marriage in 1960 to aspiring director
Frank Perry launched the partnership for which both would be best remembered. Their independent film,
DAVID AND LISA (1962) earned Academy Award nominations for both writing and direction. After the Perrys's
1971 divorce, Eleanor went on to become a feminist and penned the 1979 novel, "Blue Pages," a
semiautobiographical exposé of Hollywood's treatment of women.
