Description
The Dwight Murphy Papers are a small collection of six (6) documents related to Murphy's end of life planning and his equestrian
interests.
Background
Dwight Murphy arrived in Santa Barbara from East St. Louis in 1905 and adopted Santa Barbara as his new home. He worked with
Thomas More Storke and Major Max Fleischmann on the post-earthquake renaissance, contributing to the city through many preservation
efforts involving the waterfront, parks, rebuilding the Mission, etc.
Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the Archivist and Librarian.
Permission for publication is given on behalf of the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation Research Center as the
owner of the physical items and is not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be
obtained by the reader.
