Typescript of California Gold Rush Fleet (SAFR 23807, HDC 1651) is a copy of a typescript entitled, California Gold Rush Fleet: Vessels Sailing From the East Coast of the United States and Canada, December 7, 1848 - December 31, 1849, Together with a Cameo Biography of Each Vessel, by John B. Goodman. It contains encyclopedic entries for 22 of the more than 762 ships covered in the much larger nineteen volume manuscript. Comprising 177 pages, including front matter, seven appendices (A through H) and a bibliography, this photocopy of a portion of the larger work, also includes artwork and foldout hand drawn maps.

John B. Goodman III (1901 - 1991) was an amateur historian who spent twenty years researching and writing about the hundreds of ships that sailed from the east coast of the United States to California during the Gold Rush.
