Clippings, brochures, administrative records, theater programs, notes, and a poem, circa 1954-1975, from Reverend F. Kenneth Barta, former member of the Southern California Council on Religion and the Homophile (SCCRH). The collection includes administrative records from SCCRH, and subject files on homosexuality, censorship, religion, and legal issues.
Background
F. Kenneth Barta was born on April 5, 1924 in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He worked as a rector in Episcopal churches in the Virgin Islands, Florida, and California; and as a chaplain for Veterans Affairs hospitals in California.
