Abstract: The collection consists of five files from the Loeb and Loeb law firm containing correspondence with Edwin Loeb. Topics covered
include organization of the Academy, including first meetings; Constitution, bylaws, and amendments; Conciliation Committee
cases; publication of lectures given at USC; actors minimum contract; Writer-Producer Code of Practice; Taft Building lease;
proposed Academy Foundation; collecting scripts for Academy Library; contract for training films to be made by Research Council;
protests on use of name by Academy Productions, Inc., and Academy Theatre; Frank Capra's request that producers resign from
Academy; and proposed reorganization of Academy.
