Abstract: Ralph Cicerone was a leading atmospheric chemist and was internationally renowned for his research in climate change. He arrived
at UC Irvine in 1989 as the founding chair of the Department of Earth System Science and became the fourth UCI Chancellor
in 1998, serving until 2005 when he was elected President of the National Academy of Sciences. He retired as NAS President
in June 2016. This collection includes his research files, teaching files, and conference files. Forms of materials include
speeches, manuscripts, correspondence, notes, reports and report drafts, publications, clippings, photographs, audiovisual
recordings, and digital material.
