    Biography/Administrative History

Fae Lenaire Sutton was born May 3rd, 1919 and died December 15th, 1997. She graduated high school in 1937 in Garden Grove, and attended La Salle Extension University. La Salle University was located in Chicago, but specialized in “distance learning”. Sutton studied accounting through them at her home in Orange County. She died in Orange, California and is buried at Santa Ana cemetery. Sutton’s father (Walter A. Sutton) was born in California and worked as a contractor. He was also a Civil Defense medical volunteer. Her mother’s parents came from Arkansas and Missouri, and has an ancestor who fought for the Union’s 14th Kansas Cavalry in the Civil War. Unfortunately not much else is known about Fae Lenaire Sutton. Based on the files within this collection it appears she never married or had any children. She spent a good portion of her life managing properties owned and inherited by her and her family members. Photographs show that she traveled to places including Alaska and Washington D.C.
