D'Addezio was an Italian veterinarian and soldier who served on the Eastern Front during World War II.
Scope and Content of Collection
Includes photographs taken by D'Addezio while serving on the Eastern Front during World War II. Various locations are represented.
He was in Yugoslavia from April to July 1941, and there are images taken in Bihać. There are also photographs taken of the
destruction in Ukraine, crossings over the Dniester River, Ștefănești and Bessarabia in August 1941, a cemetery of the
3rd Bersaglieri Regiment, and Kraków, Poland. Photographs also depict destroyed Italian vehicles, food aid relief efforts
of the German Red Cross, military officers, civilians, and cavalry horses. Also includes four photograph albums belonging
to D'Addezio, which contain personal photographs of D'Addezio and span his entire life. Collection includes graphic images
of deceased persons.
