Scope and Contents
This collection contains material amassed by musician Steve Briscoe relating to his Punk
bands Clown Alley, The Pseudos and The Bruces, dating from 1979-1983. Included are
composition lyrics, flyers, art layouts, t-shirts, posters, stencils and other material
relating to Briscoe's activities in Punk music in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Steve Briscoe Punk Music Collection was acquired by the Stanford Archive of Recorded
Sound from Steve Briscoe in 2019.
Arrangement
This collection is arranged in to three series: Manuscript material, Promotional material
and Sound recordings.
Bibliography
Steve Briscoe is an American musician and visual artist. He has peformed in Bay Area Punk
music groups Clown Alley, Pseudos and The Bruces as well as exhibited works at the Traywick
Gallery; the Dorothy Weiss Gallery; Berkeley Art Museum and the Fine Arts Museum of San
Francisco.
