Tax records with several attributed to Pénélon along with Adrien Davoust. 1859-1868, undated.

Biographical / historical:

Pénélon (1827 - 1885) was a Frenchman who arrived in Los Angeles in 1853 and thrived as a Daguerre photographer. He was also a self-taught portraiture artist who was commissioned by many prominent Californios.
