Scope and Content of Collection
An artificial collection of textual and non-textual election and political materials. Organization is by level of government
including federal, with an emphasis on California and Los Angeles County. Textual holdings consist of election and general
political ephemera: stickers, bumper stickers, campaign cards, handbills, leaflets, pamphlets, broadsides, newspapers and
special interest publications, ballots, ticket stubs, electoral tickets and voting guides. There are materials, including
programs, for presidential inaugurations. Other political materials consist of books including commemoratives, drafts of
the Los Angeles City Charter; a 1927 supplement to the Political Code of California and national convention guides. Non-textual
material includes posters, a few postcards, two sound recordings, buttons, ribbons and leather-bound and woven keepsakes.
