Abstract: The Valley Music Theatre was formerly
located at 20600 Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, between the Ventura Freeway exits of
Winnetka and Canoga Avenues. Intended to be the first professional local performing arts
center in the San Fernando Valley, the theatre was the brain-child of stage-producer Nick
Mayo who, with partners Randolph Hale, Cy Warner and Art Linkletter, formed VMT, Inc. as a
public corporation. The collection contains the bound playbills and programs given to Nick
Mayo, a scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings documenting construction of and
performances at Valley Music Theatre, and general Los Angeles theater news.

and general Los Angeles theater news from the mid-1960s. The sixty images include pictures
of the construction of the building as well as cast photographs.
