Abstract: This scrapbook was created by the Los
Angeles Bureau of Housing and Sanitation, under director M. S. Siegel, to document poor and
slum housing conditions in Los Angeles during 1938. It consists of black and white
photographs and negatives, some of which have been captioned.

The
Poor Housing Conditions in Los Angeles Scrapbook was
created by the Los Angeles Bureau of Housing and Sanitation, under director M. S. Siegel, to
document poor and slum housing conditions in Los Angeles during 1938. Box 1 contains the
scrapbook, and box 2 contains negatives for each individual photograph in the scrapbook.
