of the National Organization of Lesbians and Gays (NOLAG), 1981-1982. NOLAG was formed in 1981 as a national grassroots organization
dedicated to educating and informing the public on gay and lesbians rights, and "to promote the common good and welfare of
the Lesbian and Gay community."
Background
The National Organization of Lesbians and Gays (NOLAG) was formed in 1981 as a more democratic and grassroots alternative
to the National Gay Task Force and the National Activists' Union of Gays and Lesbians. NOLAG's mission was to educate and
inform the public on gay and lesbians rights, and "to promote the common good and welfare of the Lesbian and Gay community."
NOLAG dissolved in 1982 due to discord between chapters.
