    Custodial History

    The final assemblance of this group of papers is unknown. Many of the items were original correspondence sent to William H. Davis. There are a few items also addressed to Eva Scott Fenyes. All the items in this collection were found in Eva Scott Fenyes's copy of Sixty Years in California. Material from the Eva Scott Fenyes art collection and library were acquired by the Southwest Museum in 1934.

    Processed by Glenna Schroeder, circa 1977-1981. Finding aid completed by Anna Liza Posas, 2013. Final processing of collection and publication of finding aid made possible by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).

    Arrangement

    The material are physically filed in chronological order. The original placement of the items are noted in the inventory held in the Braun Research Library files. In general, the letters, receipts, bills, orders, and miscellaneous items are pertinent to the people mentioned on the pages where it was filed.

    Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of correspondence, financial documents, and other archival material related to the people mentioned in William Heath Davis's book, Sixty Years in California, published in 1889. Many of the correspondence are addressed to Edward H. Davis or Guillermo Davis.
