Biography/Administrative History
Edmund D. Edelman was born in Los Angeles in 1930. He served on the Los Angeles City Council from 1965 until 1974, when he
was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. He served in that office until his retirement in 1994.

The administrative and political papers of Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman, including papers of his term on the Los
Angeles City Council and his campaigns for office covering the period of 1965 to 1994. There is major emphasis on his tenure
as supervisor from 1975 to 1994. The collection includes many types of material including correspondence, photographs, business
documents, memorandums, videotapes, etc. Subjects include but are not limited to LA County government and public welfare and
urban transportation in Los Angeles County.
