Record Series 35 contains the records of the Friends of Archaeology beginning with the group's inception in 1966. Materials include correspondence, newsletters, announcements, research files, and newspaper clippings.
Background
The Friends of Archaeology was founded in 1966 as a support group affiliated with the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The group's mission is to support and promote archaeology at UCLA by awarding grants and fellowships, and by sponsoring programming and publications.
