This collection (1963-1971) comprises newspaper clippings, correspondence, notes, manuscripts, a bibliography, a list of gay
liberation organizations by state, flyers, and press releases pertaining to various gay liberation organizations collected
by Los Angeles gay activist Stanley Brossette.
Background
Stanley R. Brossette was a gay activist in Los Angeles, California. He collected research material from 1970-1971 on the emergence
of the gay liberation movement and Gay Liberation Front organizations across America. Brossette was an active participant
in the Los Angeles gay liberation movement during the 1970s.
