Description
This collection consists of a scrapbook and 29 loose items compiled by gay rights supporter David R. King. The bulk of the items date from 1977-1979 and deal with gay rights issues, especially with Anita Bryant's activities in Dade County, Florida and elsewhere; California State Senator John V. Briggs and his Proposition 6 campaign; and the successful efforts mounted by several organizations to defeat Proposition 6.

David R. King was a gay rights supporter and a resident of Pomona, California.

Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the City Archivist. Permission for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.
Availability
The collection is available for use during San Francisco History Center hours, with photographs available during Photo Desk hours. Collections that are stored offsite should be requested 48 hours in advance.
