Background
The Ambassador Hotel opened in 1921 in the mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles. The hotel is famously remembered for the
site where Senator Robert F. Kennedy was shot during a campaign event in 1968. The hotel closed to guests in 1989. Preservationists
including the Los Angeles Conservancy were unsuccessful in preventing its demolition in 2005.
