Abstract: Correspondence and clippings related to letters to the editor, along with information on the Gay and Lesbian Police Advisory
Task Force of Los Angeles collected or written by Gene R. Touchet, 1975-1987. Touchet served as an ONE Incorporated board
member, 1976-1987, the American Civil Liberties Union Gay Rights Chapter as a Media Watch monitor, and on the Gay and Lesbian
Police Advisory Task Force of Los Angeles.
Gene R. Touchet was born in 1938. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1961. He received his Bachelor of Science
from Lamar University in 1963, his master's degree from Columbia University Teachers College in 1969, and his doctorate from
the University of Florida in 1974. He taught speech, dramatics and English in East Orange, New Jersey from 1963-1969. Touchet
went on to the University of Florida from 1969-1973 and then to Columbia State Community College, Columbia, Tennessee, 1973-1975.
He relocated to Southern California. Touchet served ONE Incorporated as a board member, 1976-1987, the American Civil Liberties
Union Gay Rights Chapter as a Media Watch monitor, and on the Gay and Lesbian Police Advisory Task Force of Los Angeles.

Task Force of Los Angeles collected or written by Gene R. Touchet, 1975-1987. Touchet's letters to the editor were in response
to an Oliphant editorial cartoon, Ralph F. Pynchon's letter to the editor, and Roman Catholic Cardinal Timothy Manning's column
in the
Los Angeles Hearld Examiner.
