This series contains 109 issues of "Yank: The Army Weekly," 1943 -1945. The series does not include all issues published.
Some issues are duplicates. The Aug. 10, 1945 issue is a color photocopy. "Yank" was a publication of the U.S. Army, 1942-1945,
created by enlisted men and for sale only to those in the armed services. The magazine featured striking, historical or poignant
cover photographs, "The Sad Sack" cartoon by George Baker as well as a page of cartoons by other servicemen, an advice column,
pictorial "Main Streets of America: A Look Back Home Since You Went Away," "Mail Call" letters to the magazine, pictorial
stories of the war, news and feature articles about significant events, locations, battles, and people in the war and "back
home."
