    Content Description

This collection contains one letter written by Tina Burton to Chief Master Sergeant Harold B. Staton, United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. CMSgt Staton retired around 1974.
Tina Burton was in 6th grade when she wrote the letter. She addressed her letter to "Dear Serviceman," which indicates she did not know to whom she was writing. In her letter she describes her hometown of Naples, Florida, the beach, and the Gulf of Mexico. She closed her letter with "I know men fighting in the war don't like to listen to little 6th graders but I hope you don't mind too much."
The letter was donated by Staton's daughter, L.A.
