Colonel John B. Madden was a member of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society during the 1950s.
Scope and Content of Collection
These two scrapbooks include photographs, tickets, and brochures relating to the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society 1955-1956
excursions: the "Napa Valley Picnic", "Burney Gold Spike Special", "Centennial Excursion", and the "Week with Western steam".
Also includes the Pacific Railroad Society's excursion No. 96 to Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico in 1958. Also includes informatiion
about vacation trips to Knott's Berry Farm, Travel Town at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, and Disneyland. Incudes photographs
of Australian steam trains and locomotives taken by R. Brewer of Uralla, Auburn, New South Wales, Australia.
