Bill Files may include bill analyses, amendments and resolutions, author's statements, testimony, press releases, editorials and newspaper clippings, correspondence, committee statements, and other information. Figueroa authored numerous bills on a variety of topics such as animal abuse (SB1806, 2005-2006); outsourcing of jobs (SB1453, 2003-2004); traffic congestion management (SB1636, 2001-2002); child custody (SB2124, 1999-2000), and forced labor (AB2457, 1995-1996). However, her primary interests centered around healthcare reform, environmental issues, and professions. Scope and Content Note

Correspondence covers all of Figueroa's time in the Assembly and the first two years of her time as Senator. The files are primarily outgoing letters such as replies to letters received or requests being made. Files may also include news clippings, notes, memoranda, reports, and resolutions. Notable topics include education, Auburn Dam, crime, carpool lanes, insurance, mortgage, healthcare, recycling, methyl bromide, hunting, child support, gay marriage, concealed weapons, abortion, vehicle smog regulation, female genital mutilation, and immigration. Correspondents include constituents, other legislators, media representatives, and community as well as local government leaders.
Correspondence from Figueroa's Assembly years are dated December 1995 to November 1998 and consist of 10 file folders (LP453:198-207); Senate years are dated December 1998 to December 2000 and consist of 2 file folders (LP453:208-209).
