Biographical / Historical
Keith M. Baker is Stanford Professor of Early Modern European History and, by courtesy, of French and Italian; J.E. Wallace
Sterling Professor in the Humanities; and Jean-Paul Gimon Director of the France-Stanford Center. Baker earned BA (1960) &
MA (1963) degrees from Peterhouse, Cambridge, and a PhD (1964) from the University of London.
