Collection Description
This collection is made up of materials that Patrick Mahony collected during his relationship with Lord Dunsany (1878-1957),
an Anglo-Irish playwright and author notable for his contrubutions to the literary genres of horror and fantasy. Most improtant
is the correspondence between himself and Lord Dunsany concerning a lawsuit over copyright infringement of one his plays ("The
Jest of Hahalaba") and his lecture tour in the United States. For the correpsondencein folder 1 Mr. Mahony provied a typed
summary of each letter's contents, which is attached to the letter. There are also periodical articles on Lord Dunsany,
theater programs, and miscellaneous correspondence of Mr. Mahony.

Dunsany had filed action against Arnold in the U.S.A. District Court for infringement of copyright for the motion picture
"It Happened Tomorrow" taken from Lord Dunsany play "The Jest of Hahalaba". Arnold agreed to pay Lord Dunsany the sum decided
by the court.
