Background
LAKE FILBERT, built in 1919 for the U.S. Shipping Board, was sold to the Alaska Steamship Company in 1922 or 1923 and renamed NABESNA. A.M. SIMPSON, built in 1911 for the Simpson Lumber Company, was sold to the Buehner Lumber Company in 1916 and renamed MARTHA BUEHNER.
