Writings

Scope and Content

The Writings series consists of manuscripts and typescripts of Longstreet's novels, stories, non-fiction works, screen- and teleplays, poetry, and outlines/notes for novels and books. In addition to manuscripts, both original and photocopied typescripts are included. Longstreet would often edit photocopies, make notes on them about publication status, and/or sign them.

The Writings series is arranged by genre.

Scope and Content

Originals and reproductions in the form of photocopies of Longstreet's artwork. Includes drawings, watercolors, and 2- and 3-dimensional collages. This series also includes material on Longstreet as an art collector. Longstreet was a prolific documenter of his own work, creating "portolios" of drawings out of photocopies as well as producing photocopies of his work in general. Many of these photocopies were reworked by Longstreet; he would draw over photocopies, add watercolor to them, paste new sections over parts of them, and/or sign them.
