Biographical / Historical

Maurice Jarre (1924-2009) was a French composer and conductor. He wrote music for over 150 films, including "The Collector" (1965), "Dr. Zhivago" (1965), "Is Paris Burning" (1966), "Night of the Generals" (1967), and "The Fixer" (1968). Jarre won three Academy Awards for Best Original Score for "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), "Doctor Zhivago" (1965), and "A Passage to India" (1984). He also won four Golden Globes, three BAFTA Awards, and a Grammy Award.
