    Historical Note

UCLA's Education and Psychology Library was formally established in 1965 when the Education Library (established in 1953) began providing support services to the Department of Psychology and Kinesiology as well as the Graduate School of Education. The Library's collection was focused on research and research-related materials for the following disciplines and areas of study: the study of education systems, the role of education in society, the structure and function of education agencies, research technology, experimental psychology, comparative psychology, developmental psychology, personality, educational psychology, pedagogical techniques, linguistic structures, transformational grammar, comparative bilingual systems, psycholinguistics, and learning theory.
The Education and Psychology Library has since been subsumed into the collections of the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library and the Charles E. Young Research Library.
