Scope and Content

Record Series 429 contains office files relating to campaigns for bonds of interest to the University of California, Los Angeles. Each sub-series within the series is concerned with a single bond and its related state proposition. Files include correspondence, press releases, newspaper clippings, citizen's committees, strategies and planning, meeting minutes, and endorsements. Most sub-series also contain a Fact Book about each bond.
This is an inactive record series; no additional University records are expected to be added.

Proposition 3 was a $250 million state bond issue for education to provide:<br> 1) $100 million for construction on the nine campuses of the University of California <br> 2) $100 million for construction on the nineteen campuses of the California State Colleges<br> 3) $50 million for reconstruction of deteriorating elementary and high school buildings built before 1943 in the urban areas of California.</br>
