This collection includes publication and business records of Papier Mache Press, including editorial, production, sales, and
marketing files, as well as manuscripts.
Background
Sandra Kay Martz founded Papier-Mache Press in 1984. The Press was known for its politically and socially conscious publications
about the experiences of women, such as the anthology When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple(1987), which sold over 1.6 million copies. By 1998, Papier-Mache Press had published over sixty titles. Martz sold the Press
in 2000.
