Biography

William H. Wright was an American producer and writer active in Hollywood from 1927 to the mid-1960s. He joined the Paramount publicity department in 1927. In the 1930s Wright moved into production, serving at various times as an assistant to David O. Selznick, B. P. Schulberg, and Harry Cohn. In 1939 he pursued a career as a freelance writer that led to an MGM contract as a staff writer in 1941. He was soon promoted to the rank of producer, and over the next decade produced fifteen MGM pictures. Wright entered television as a writer-producer in the late 1950s.
