The collection consists of correspondence, reports, financial data, clippings and ephemera related to the real estate investments and activities of various corporations and development companies.

David A. W. Young served as treasurer and assistant secretary to Volk-McLain Communities, Inc., as treasurer and controller for the Great Southwest Corporation, and as secretary-treasurer of the Newport Beach-based Buccola Co. He also served as chairman of the Real Estate Committee of the California CPA Society.
