Abstract: Degania Golove, 1929-2015, was a celebrated activist and historian who focused on lesbian history. She was a longtime volunteer
and one-time coordinator of the June L. Mazer Archives. This collection includes Golove's compilation of Women's Studies syllabi,
correspondence between Golove and various researchers, professors, and educators, and drafts of biographies of contributors
to a study she intended to publish about lesbian studies, among other materials.

June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives , the
UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) , and the
UCLA Library . These collections expand the pool of primary source materials available to researchers and to the community at large. This
partnership was initiated by CSW and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to inventory, organize,
preserve, and digitize more than eighty Mazer collections pertaining to lesbian and feminist activism and writings.

Biography
Degania Golove, born April 17, 1929, was a longtime volunteer and one-time coordinator of the June L. Mazer Archives. Throughout
her life, she was consistently acknowledged for her research assistance on gay and lesbian history. She received a Women in
Leadership Award from the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in acknowledgement of her community and activist work. Golove
died in Los Angeles on July 17, 2015.
Scope and Content
This collection represents Degania Golove's research compiled for a survey of curriculum on lesbians and lesbianism in Women's
Studies university programs. This collection includes Golove's compilation of Women's Studies syllabi, correspondence between
Golove and various researchers, professors, and educators, and drafts of biographies of contributors to a study she intended
to publish about lesbian studies, among other materials.
