The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) was established in 1988 by a group of Peninsula residents. Led by Bill
Ailor, the nonpolitical group formed to preserve undeveloped land as open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula for historical,
educational, ecological, recreational and scenic purposes. Working with donors, land owners, developers, the four cities on
the Peninsula and Los Angeles, the PVPLC has successfully restored over 1600 acres. This includes habitate restoration to
support rare or threatened species such as the Palos Verdes Blue Butterfly and the California gnatcatcher.
