Scope and Content
The series contains correspondence, meeting minutes, notes, reports, proposals, memorandums, and calendars produced by the
Seaver Faculty Association (SFA) and its various committees regarding faculty issues such as tenure, salaries, benefits, faculty
handbooks, faculty retreats and general operations of the SFA. While the name and number of committees in SFA varies over
time, committees with materials in the series include the Executive Committee, Rank, Tenure and Promotion, Stipends/Benefits,
Faculty Advisory, General Education, Academic Affairs, and the Dean Search Committee formed in 2008. Also included are materials
from the Faculty Organization of Seaver College (FOSC), which was the faculty group that preceded the SFA before its establishment
in 1995.

Seaver Faculty Handbooks
1989, 2004-2006
Scope and Content
The series contains correspondence, drafts, proposals and notes spanning from 2004 to 2006 related to revising the Seaver
faculty handbook, as well as the Seaver Faculty Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) book. Also included are final copies of
the 2006 Seaver Faculty FAQ book, and the Seaver Faculty Handbook from September, 1989.

Seaver Social Sciences Division

Scope and Content
The series contains materials related to Batchelder's academic department at Pepperdine, the Seaver College Social Sciences
Division. Materials include correspondence and procedures regarding the search for a new chair of the division in 1995; correspondence,
proposals, notes, and meeting minutes from 1995 to 1996 regarding the establishment of an International Studies division at
Seaver College; and memos written by Batchelder from 1997 to 1998 to Dean of Academic Affairs Donald Thompson, regarding Seaver's
Strategic Plan and the report,
Opportunities for Liberal Learning in the 21st Century.
