Californians for AIDS Research and Education (CARE)

Scope and Contents

Contents include meeting agendas and notes, bank statements, corporate records, correspondance, fliers, receipts and financial documents. The records document the formation of CARE, their work to defeat Proposition 69 in the June 1988 election, and the AIDS Tax Credit Initiative from 1987-1989. While their efforts on No on Prop 96 and 102 are mostly reflected in the second series, there are some materials related to this cause in this series. Documentation in the Fliers and forms, Other organizations, and the Planning records folders contain information on AIC.
